Time....

There never seems to be enough time in the day and I know I am not speaking for just myself. The laundry piles up, the dishes get stacked up, the dishwasher never seems to get emptied, the floors never seem to get vaccumed enough, kids never seem clean enough, and supper sometimes consists of hot dogs and macaroni and cheese, but we all go on.

Well today while I have been working, I decided that I needed to get something done on my break, so I took my 15-minute break and went to the kitchen. I did one quick stare down of the place and decided in 15 minutes I was going to get a lot done. I started at the dishwasher and emptied that, then I filled it back up again with dirty dishes and realized I needed a few more dirty dishes so went and dumped out some old leftovers out of the fridge, put the dishwasher on to start its cleaning cycle, took out a bag of garbage, took out some recyclables, and then cleaned off one and a half counter tops. I did this all in just 15 minutes. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off and no one dare get in my way, but I was on a mission and feel pretty darn good as I completed my first mission of today, Tuesday, November 25. Wish me luck as I have so many more missions to go today.

If I learned anything.....

If I learned anything this weekend it would have to be: watch out for the falling LARGE can of Bush's Baked Beans as when it hits the floor your toes are going to be under it and it HURTS LIKE HELL!

Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks?

My mom was able to take a vacation a few weeks ago (thanks to her kids paying for their trip as their b-day and x-mas gifts) to Washington State to see her best friend from high school. They have always kept in contact through letters and email, but really I do not know the last time they actually saw each other and I don't think my mother has actually ever seen her place in Washington. Well while they were gone I started getting text messages from a number I did not know, but soon realized that it was my mom's best friend, Dianne, texting me. At that point I was impressed to know someone older was actually texting me. Well, when my mother got home she started asking lots of questions about texting and how hard it was and on and on and on. I never thought anything of it and last night my mother appeared at my door with a new cell phone and she wanted me to teach her how to text. She decided to get herself her own cell phone, so that she can text her best friend in Washington. Boy, let me tell you, you can teach an old dog new tricks, BUT it takes a LONG, LONG, LONG time.

How convenient!

And so I slaved over dinner tonight to make my die for spaghetti and meat sauce and we all ate until our tummies were full and had a pleasant conversation at supper.......after I was done I looked over to the sink seeing all the dishes that still needed to be done and that were calling someone's name to wash them. I slowly get up from the table walking towards the sink hoping SOMEONE, ANYONE would tell me to sit down and they would do dishes and all I hear, "I will be right back; I gotta go make some room in my stomach." Twenty minutes later all the dishes are done and STILL he is nowhere to be found. Is this a male/husband thing?

My funny for today.....

Haylee just informed me that I need to wash her blankie because "it doesn't smell clean anymore." I wash her blankie at least one a week....I think she likes the smell of the drier sheets, but to her that signifies it is "clean." LOL!!!!!

Some people.....

I love working from home and love having my desk next to the big bay window in our bedroom. I can sit and watch people drive by, walk by, and the birds and any other animals that appear. Just now I had a lady walk by on the road and her arm was flailing around and I did a double take to see that she was talking on a cell phone on her morning walk and she was using her other hand to "talk with her hands." Does this not defeat the purpose of a peaceful morning walk to be talking on your cell phone?

How could they????

How could the first episode of the final season of ER on NBC kill off Pratt? I am so upset that they started off their season like this and from the previews for the future it looks like they are only going to keep getting rid of more and more of the "good" actors/actresses. This makes me almost not want to watch.....

Go, Crickets, Go!

Today is homecoming in Fall Creek and it was wear "Green and White" day. I think we might have went a little overboard.....tell me what you think? The shoes even had fabric paint on them that said "FC Crickets" and we painted little footballs on them.

another funny....

So tonight me and the girls were on our way home from Eau Claire when from the silence came a little voice who said, "Mom, when I turn 21 I am moving out. I am moving to Becky's house." For those who don't know who "Becky" is, she is Grandma, but since my mom does daycare and all the daycare kids call her "Becky," Lexi called her "Becky" since we moved home years ago and it has always stuck. The best thing is, Becky doesn't care what they call her, cause they still love her the same. :)

I love the emails.....

Everyday while I am at work, my mother emails me....most of the time they are something about what Haylee is doing, what she did, or what she said. This is the email I just received from my mother. "Haylee is sitting next to eric eating breakfast; she looks at him and says BTW your eggs are leaking." I find this so absolutely hilarious!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUSBAND!

Well, today is my husband's 36th birthday. We are celebrating with a lovely little party at Texas Roadhouse with Myk's parents, Myk's grandma, Myk's great aunt and uncle, and my sister and brother-in-law. Should be fun!!!!!! :) I will post pictures from his party after tonight.

Tomorrow, we will be celebrating Lucas's (0ur nephew) first birthday with a lovely party here at our house. This should also be a lot of fun! :)

WELCOME TO THE 19TH HOLE!

Well, here is the almost finished project of Myk's, except for the lights and bar stools. This is his pride and joy and all hand constructed by Michael himself! :)

She is so definitely Myk's child.....

Haylee was running around the house today licking these nerf darts and then placing them on her face and body. At one time, she had eight of them stuck to her face. Yep, she is definitely Michael's child!

The dungeon in progress.....

This is a picture of the bar area that Myk and his dad made. Yes, we decided at this time to just put up paneling as we just want to get the basement done, but maybe in the future will be thinking of putting up drywall.

This is a picture of the framed up bathroom!

Honestly, I was being good.....

The pictures say everything! "What, I didn't do anything wrong....did I?

The clouds....

After seeing what we thought were tornado clouds, Terri emailed the pictures to the local TV station and this is the response she got back, "Those are cold air funnels, which often form in a shallow layer of cool air after a cold front has moved through. They're pretty weak and rarely touch the ground, but they're definitely cool to see!" At least we know they were not tornadic, but like the weather guy stated, cool looking to see.

Worrisome....

So, the last pictures I posted were from about 8 miles away from the storm cloud. This is what the clouds looked like right over Terri's (my very dear and close friend) house. I have permission from her to post this picture. :) Thanks Terri!

Spooky looking clouds....

We saw this cloud last night that had definite twisting to it as well as it kept coming down and going back up in to the cloud....thank goodness it was a ways away from us. The communication center in Eau Claire said that there was no tornadic activity on the Doppler system, but still.....

Storms.....

I love storms. I have always been fascinated with storms and tonight we had another storm rolling through. Here are some pictures of some pretty "wicked" looking clouds....

The dungeon......

Is now almost all framed up!!!!!!! :) Now we are debating on either drywall or paneling. Any suggestions?

HAPPY 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

It is official, I have officially put up with my husband for 10 years! LOL! Actually the last 10 years have been the best time of my life. I never thought marriage would be so easy, but Myk and I make a great team and we know what we got to do to make this marriage work. Communication is the key!

We are not doing anything spectacular this year as finishing off our basement has become a priority in our life, so we are going to go out to Woo's Pagoda with Myk's parents, Alexis, and Haylee and have dinner and then come home and go back down to the basement and get the rest of the stuff moved as Myk's parents are going to be here bright and early on Saturday to start helping us frame up the other half of the basement. :) I cannot wait for the basement to be done and we can really enjoy it to its fullest potential.

Our fishing tales!!!!!

Here are just a few pics of the fish that we caught while on vacation! The most interesting picture was of Haylee falling asleep while we were fishing in the boat. The rocking of the boat with the waves was just too much for her to handle and it rocked her to sleep! :)

My favorites from vacation!

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from our vacation! I wish I would have taken lots more pictures, BUT we were having too much darn fun!

Myk's firsts on vacation!

Myk did find out that he is really not as young and flexible as he used to be....body parts don't bend in certain directions and sitting on your knees is in the distant past....after a few attempts he finally learned to lean backwards and was able to enjoy a ride.

Haylee's firsts while on vacation!

Haylee was even able to take her first tube ride in the lake and just the expression on her face says she had a great time and the fly-away hair.

Lexi's firsts on our vacation!

Lexi was learning how to knee board and also she went tubing for the first time ever! She had a blast!

Our vacation...

Our vacation was wonderful. It was a beautiful week with little rain, lots of sun, and lots of summer fun! Lexi got to experience some firsts while mom sat on the shore trying not to panic too much feeling that she was going to hurt herself. In the 10 years of our marriage and Lexi's life of nine years and Haylee's life of four years we have never taken a week off, went somewhere, and called it a real true vacation, and THIS WAS WONDERFUL! It was so wonderful that we have already booked a cabin for next year. Myk and I have never know what it was like to take a week off from work and go somewhere and have basically no cares in the world. We both came back feeling refreshed and renewed and ready to take what life dishes out to us!

My husband is so special.....

I guess on Saturday night after I left Karen and Brock's house (I had to get to bed as I had to work on Sunday morning), Myk had one too many to drink and this is what you get.....I have to learn not to leave him alone in public anymore.
