Downtime....

Last night, I put the girls to bed early...7:20 to be exact. Lexi has been deciding to wake up between 5:45 and 6 a.m. the last few days for whatever reason and Haylee decided to wake me up on Wednesday morning at 2:45 a.m. to tell me she could not sleep, and so her and I laid in bed and talked from 2:45 until almost 4 a.m. when I could not stay awake any longer and put her back in her own bed, so last night everyone was beat including myself. The girls went down without a hitch, not even a word out of Haylee so I knew she was tired. I could not believe that I was actually going to have some "me" time for once. Well, I turned on the TV and watched the last 20 minutes of Deal or No Deal and then started flipping through the channels. I decided to watch Supernanny for a few minutes and got frustrated with how the parents were treating/abusing their kids, so I decided to turn the TV off so I didn't get anymore mad. I sat there for a few minutes and looked at the clock. I could not believe it was only 8:25....what to do...what to do..... This is very unusual for me as I always seem to have something to do, so I decided to go to bed. YES, I was in my bed and sleeping before 8:45 rolled around. I could not believe it. I heard the phone ring at one point and then remember Myk waking me up to ask me a question and I went right back to sleep. I woke up enough to feel him crawl in to bed at God knows what time and then I was woke up at 2:45 a.m. by little one telling me that the train woke her up. I was smart this time......I crawled out of bed, scooped her up in my arms, and put her back in bed with all her covers and told her the train would be gone in a few minutes and then she could go right back to sleep. She said, "thanks mom!" and that is the last I heard out of her until 6:45 this morning. Once again, I crawled back in to my warm bed and went right back to sleep until 5:15 this morning when the alarm was going off. I cannot believe right now how much energy I feel like I have and that I actually don't feel tired for once. Maybe going to bed at 8:30 at night is not such a bad thing after all.

Our new bathroom!

I thought I would take a few pictures of the new color in the bathroom and Myk's precious "throne." He did such a good job this weekend with getting the toilet installed and the new light fixture up. He is becoming a real handyman, although both Myk and his dad are still stumped about the bathtub situation. I don't think they will ever get it fixed.

WE WANT WARM WEATHER!

My girls are so tired of the snow, that they are now riding their bikes around inside the garage. They go around and around in circles. They decided today to try to get out in the slush and see how it went. Lexi did okay, but Haylee and the little trike were getting stuck. We are all so looking forward to melting snow and warmer temperatures. We cannot wait. The snow pile in the middle of the turn around probably stands at least 12 feet tall and we had to have the township come in with their end loader to move snow for us as we had snowpiles so big at the end of the driveway that we could not see out in the road for oncoming traffic. They are predicting more snow for the end of this week. Will it ever end? Around this part of Wisconsin, they say the last snowfall does not happen until after the girl and boy's basketball tournaments are over with in Madison and that is like four or so weeks away. In my mind, it cannot come soon enough! :)

We survived!

We got the bathroom done! Thanks to Myk's parents coming over, Kayoko and I painted on Saturday while the boys tinkered around with some electrical and plumbing issues. When all was said and done, we primed, painted, installed a new toilet, installed a new light fixture, and also installed a new toilet paper holder. Wow...our bathroom is like brand spanking new! :) And all is well with the marriage too! We didn't kill each other and not too many harsh words were said either. The only real foul language came about when Myk was standing on the countertop and decided to dump a big bowl of paint all over himself and the sink and countertop. I had a great laugh out of the whole ordeal. If I remember right, he was even laughing at himself.

My husband hates me!!!!

Well, overnight I decided I didn't like our bathroom anymore, so this weekend I have conned my husband in to helping me paint the bathroom, but first we are going to have to prime as the red is going to take a lot to cover. I can tell he really does not want to paint this weekend, BUT he has not said anything at all about the whole ordeal as of YET.... I have a feeling I will hear a few choice words before the weekend is over. WISH US LUCK!

The love of my life....

In the last few weeks to a month, I have been thinking a lot about my marriage....my marriage is great. Of course, there are always the ups and downs in any marriage, but it seems our disagreements always come back to communication and talking our problems out.

We have also been talking about how we are going to be celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary this year. How do you celebrate something so great as a marriage to someone for 10 years? What do you get each other as a gift? Do you go away and celebrate each other? Do you go on a vacation with the kids? We have been talking about "going away" for just even overnight, so we will see what plays out. The funny part is "going away" for us means traveling as far as the Twin Cities....LOL! :)

The Twin Cities is a significant place in our lives. We had been dating a short seven months when I was offered the position at United Hospital and I remember the conversation so clear between Myk and I. I was so scared to even bring up the subject to him of following me to the Twin Cities, but he was so sweet and was there for me to support me and wanted to move with me to the Twin Cities. From the very beginning and the very first date we had we had pretty much committed our lives to each other and that we were both very serious about wanting more than just a "fling" out of our relationship. Our moving to the Twin Cities really kind of started our lives together as we actually were living together and making a life together.

Look at us now....almost 10 years later.....two kids later, a house, living in the small town of Fall Creek, Wisconsin, Myk finally getting the job he has always wanted and love, me working from home again, and we could not be happier. God has blessed us and LIFE IS GOOD!

How I wish....

I love working from home....this morning rather than Haylee getting out of bed, she decided to sit in her room and yell for me. I went to her room and....
Me: "Good Morning, Gorgeous! How are you?"
Haylee: Mumbling....."good."
Haylee: Excitedly says, "Guess what MOM? IT IS SUMMER TODAY!"
Me: "Oh baby, I wish it was" as we are walking towards my bedroom.....
Haylee: Grumply states as she looks out the big window in the living room, "Why is there still snow here? It is supposed to be summer."

Sorry for lack of updates....

I cannot believe my days are kept so busy that I don't even have five minutes to blog something, unlike my other counterparts who blog almost every day and how much I enjoy reading their blogs. Even being on light duty from work this week after smashing my pointy finger in the sliding van door and bruising the bone and periosteum, I am finding things to keep me busy while letting my finger rest and icing it. Typing this week has become quite a challenge, but everyday it seems to be getting better and hopefully by next week will be back to its normal self, although the doctors warned me it could be a month or two before there is no pain....UGH!

Apparently Clammato and Bud Light don't mix...

Another conversation...

Haylee was lying on the floor practicing her letters in a book, when she stated,
Haylee: "Mom, when I get bigger I am going to become a test scorer."
Me: "Really?!?!?!?!?!" "What does a test scorer do?"
Haylee: "They are a test scorer....you know, mom....a test scorer."

hmmmmmm.....a test scorer.....a teacher????

Our little conversation...

Haylee: "Mom, I have eyes in the back of my head."
Me: "Oh really, what do you do with those eyes?"
Haylee: "Looking."
Me: "And what do you see?"
Haylee: "Nothing."
