I cannot believe it is already Friday again. This week has been a week of trying to catch up on sleep and my sanity. As being the new youth advisor at church, I had the joy of planning and coordinating the Easter breakfast at church for Sunday morning. I ended up running to Eau Claire every day/night last week to get things for this. With no records from previous years to be found, I was pulling ideas out of a hat on what to do, how much food to prepare, and asking for advice from anyone who had worked these in the past. Needless to say, Saturday night I did not sleep very well worrying about everything for Sunday and 4:30 a.m. rolled around way too fast for me. I made it to church by 5 a.m. and got things going.....got the coffee perking, got the sausages frying, got the water boiling for the eggs, and by that time my reinforcements arrived (Myk and Alex). We all worked together and got things going and then a lot of other parents and students arrived to help out. Needless to say, everything worked out in the end and next year I have a better feel for what we need to do. Then I came home to only have to get things prepared for the Easter celebration of family at my house. Thank God the only thing I had to do was provide the house as I was bushed by this time. It was 9:30 or after before I got to sleep on Sunday night, and then the whole week started all over again.
It amazed me this week as a few days instead of taking an hour long lunch, I took an hour long nap. I was so refreshed upon awakening, it was just amazing.
Morgan, the puppy, is doing very well and becoming one of the family. She is definitely trying to find her place in the rankings around here and she definitely knows Myk and I are superior, but she is still trying to overpower the kids, so we are going to be working on that in the next few weeks. We have to remember that she is only 9 weeks old and just a pup and so we are going to have the good days, chewy days, piddle on the floor days, and not so good days. I think things will get better once the snow melts and we can tie her outside to spend some time in the sun. The kids are still loving her and Lexi is doing a great job with the extra responsibility. We are still getting up with her at least once a night to take her out to the bathroom, so that is where I am thinking some lack of sleep is coming in to play as well.
